Welcome to TREC Trails Ireland (TTI). Our committee has been working with Horse Sport Ireland and other stakeholders to develop a framework around which an accessible and sustainable infrastructure can be developed for the leisure riders in Ireland.

Since the formation of TTI in 2021 our committee members have given over 1300 hours of their free time to:
Research into the stakeholders in Ireland and abroad, as well as research into how equestrian infrastructure has developed and progressed in other countries
Preparing for and attending over sixty meeting with various stakeholders
Drafting correspondence to state agencies, government departments, county councilors and local newspapers
Drafting our three year strategic plan, an unprecedented comprehensive survey of the sector, codes of conduct & educational contents
Preparing grant applications, responding to consultation phases & working on future projects

Please support our our team:
By joining TREC Trails Ireland you will be helping to realise the dream of safe, off-road riding trails throughout the country.

Something to celebrate today! The West Cork greenways conducted a survey earlier this year for public feedback. Myself (and many others) asked that the greenway include horse riders to use it.Up until now NO GREENWAY has either entertained the idea or implemented the use of the greenway for horse riders.Today I got an email to say the report was available for viewing on the survey results.🐴🐴🐴Horse riding is mentioned 9 times! 🐴🐴🐴First time I have seen this even being discussed and I am delighted! They have the next meeting to talk about route corridor options on the following dates if you can attend and beat the horse rider drum:Harbour Hotel, Schull on 2nd July 2024 (12:00-20:00) The West Cork Hotel, Skibbereen on 3rd and 4th July 2024 (12:00-20:00)Full document and info available here:wcgskibbereen.ie/publications/ See MoreSee Less
