Welcome to TREC Trails Ireland (TTI). Our committee has been working with Horse Sport Ireland and other stakeholders to develop a framework around which an accessible and sustainable infrastructure can be developed for the leisure riders in Ireland.

Since the formation of TTI in 2021 our committee members have given over 1300 hours of their free time to:
Research into the stakeholders in Ireland and abroad, as well as research into how equestrian infrastructure has developed and progressed in other countries
Preparing for and attending over sixty meeting with various stakeholders
Drafting correspondence to state agencies, government departments, county councilors and local newspapers
Drafting our three year strategic plan, an unprecedented comprehensive survey of the sector, codes of conduct & educational contents
Preparing grant applications, responding to consultation phases & working on future projects

Please support our our team:
By joining TREC Trails Ireland you will be helping to realise the dream of safe, off-road riding trails throughout the country.

TREC Trails Ireland
‼️NEWS-FLASH And Competition‼️Here it is: Sports Ireland latest Outdoor Trails-Checklist providing useful advice suitable for both short hacks and longer trail rides and worth any riders consideration!! Content created by none other than….wait for it…… Trec Trails Ireland!! The Horse-Trail-Checklist is now published and available online www.sportireland.ie/sites/default/files/media/document/2023-02/Horse%20Trail%20Checklist.pdf .Check it out thoroughly as you will need it for our competition later on!! This checklist, along with the horse trail standards released in December 2021 www.sportireland.ie/sites/default/files/media/document/2021-12/criteria_horse.pdf are two important elements of the work happening in Sport Ireland as they prepare to grow the number of approved equestrian trails in their portfolio. It is fantastic to be involved with them and our meetings are always filled with positive engagement! In order to include equestrian elements in this year’s Sport Ireland campaigns, TTI and HSI have therefore been asked for contributions in the following:• “Her Outdoors”, designed to encourage women to try out a variety of outdoor activities, providing them with opportunities to be active, feel good about themselves and their achievements while having fun and taking a breather from every-day stresses. www.sportireland.ie/heroutdoors• “Her Moves”, a campaign aimed at teenage girls to try out different sports, in a fun and judgement free environment, to keep them active. www.hermoves.ie/• “ BeActive” a European wide campaign to get people overall and families, out and moving.www.sportireland.ie/participation/european-week-of-sport/beactive-festivalSo finally, the fun factor of our post: a competition for you!❗️COMPETITION TIME❗️Up for grabs are Prize option 1: 5 x TTI merchandise hats worth 15€ each Prize option 2: 5 x prize packages worth 55€ each containing of: 1 hat+ TTI membership+ 20€ voucher for the Orchard Equestrian Store. Here is what you have to do: • Read the Sport Ireland Trails checklist thoroughly, (See told you!)• Go to our website trectrailsireland.ie/ under ‘Trail Riding Practices’ you will find TTI’s generic version. • Pick your TOP3 from the TTI Checklist and maybe even sign up with us!–> Prize option 1: enter the numbers of your 3 favourites in a comment under this FB post to enter the draw for a hat–> Prize option 2: enter the numbers of your 3 favourites and your membership number under this FB post to enter the draw for the hat-trick prize pack of: hat, membership refund, and a voucher to treat yourself or your horse in the shop. We at TTI are PASSIONATE about increasing the accessibility of our country to equestrians, as you know, and your support as active members is increasingly becoming extremely important as unfortunately actual member numbers are the only currency that landowners and decision makers will accept as prove of our demand for safe spaces. Sadly, actual Facebook followers just don’t make the cut! So have a bit of fun while supporting us, as we can only grow stronger together! Thanks the TTI Team See MoreSee Less
