The committee members of TREC Trails Ireland have over 35 years combined experience of creating bespoke unique riding trails, on a one-off basis, that cater for all levels of riders. We have worked closely with landowners, national organisations, local community groups and businesses, and as a result of their generosity, hundreds of riders from Ireland and abroad, have experienced the thrill of riding on some of the most beautiful routes this country has to offer, and witnessed the most spectacular views from horseback.
The birth of TTI: In January 2021, TREC Ireland created a working group to engage with stakeholders to develop a network of affordable and accessible horse riding trails similar to those our members have seen and ridden on in other countries across Europe.
On June 12th, 2021, TREC Ireland members voted to change the constitution and create a new division within the organization, TREC Trails Ireland.TTI has its own committee, has a director on the board of TREC Ireland CLG and has representation on the advisory council of Horse Sport Ireland. In addition, the chair of TTI is a member of the Board of the International Federation of Equestrian Tourism.
Members of TTI have access to a members area on our website which being developed into an information hub which will allow direct feedback to the TREC Trails Ireland committee.
The committee have been working tirelessly on phase one of our strategic plan, engaging with other stakeholders, and this work will continue as we embark on the next phase. This phase involves building a comprehensive picture of the sector and its potential and to use this information to lobby for investment in the sector. We are also in the process of generating educational content, in the form of information leaflets and short educational videos, for our members.
We need your help. By joining TREC Trails Ireland as a member, or by giving your time and skills to help our work, you will be helping to realise the dream of safe, off-road riding trails throughout the country.
